Western Australia based business, Autopro Northam loved the idea of wearing their Pyjamas all day whilst at work. However, the team wanted to do more. They wanted to raise more awareness and hopefully more funds for the amazing kids that our program supports. So the team put the call out...
They asked various local businesses to sponsor a challenge which would be completed by one of their staff members – whilst wearing PJ’s (obviously!). They received an incredible amount of support which just speaks to the amazing community that Northam is. Keep reading to see how just some of the local businesses got involved!
Firstly, Café Yasou challenged them to make a coffee. Followed by serving coffee at Happy Days Coffee Pot. What better way to start your Pyjama Day than being surrounded by coffee?
The entire team then went and checked out the newly opened, Grand Northam. To follow this, they were challenged by Avon Valley Toyota to synchronise the infamous Toyota jump and wash the courtesy car. Valley Ford and Northam Hyundai also rallied behind Autopro’s efforts and trusted them to “take over the business” – there’s selfies to prove it!
Next, the team was challenged to a duel by Beyond Cabinets and Renovations. They had to race to see who could put wheels on a cupboard the quickest.
Autopro Northam's drivers did deliveries throughout the Wheatbelt region in their PJ's collecting donations from other generous businesses in the Wheatbelt.
The day finished with the team learning how to make sausages with their local butcher, Quins.
"We left the challenge ideas open to suggestions from the businesses that wanted to be involved as well as the amount they would like to donate upon completion of the challenge," Warehouse and Merchandising Manager Camille Mansell told us.
"We have businesses already thinking of ideas for next year so looks like we may have started a new Northam tradition!"
Wow! What an incredible day for the Autopro Northam team! They told us it was so nice to bond with their fellow teammates all while getting to know the local businesses in their community.
It is so inspiring to hear so many local businesses rallying around Autopro and our cause. We are so grateful to receive such incredible support from our community. All the efforts will go towards supporting kids living in out of home care with learning, life skills and confidence.
